Payment
We accept payment by cheque in advance, or bank transfer.
Our standard invoicing currencies are £-Sterling, €-Euros and $-US dollars.
We regret that COD is not available as a payment method.

VAT
VAT stands for Value Added Tax, and is charged on most goods and services in the European Union. The current rate in the UK is 17.5%. For other EU member states the rate is determined by local legislation. For orders outside the EU orders may be subject to local taxes and customs charges.
For orders direct from Kestrel Books Ltd there is no VAT chargeable on books, educational materials and E-books. However, VAT of 17.5% applies to audio CDs, CD-ROMS and audio cassettes.

Delivery Policy
If you wish to avoid postal costs partly or entirely, you can buy our material in E-book format. For this option select the E-book version of a publication when placing your order with us. We will then send your purchased material as a pdf attached to an email message.

Kestrel Books Ltd's Shipping and Postal Delivery Charges
Our postal delivery charges are competitive. Delivery times vary to and within countries depending on location, weight of parcel and delivery companies used. Some goods, for example books and CDs, may be posted separately to take advantage of lower rates for printed papers.

This policy applies to Kestrel Books Ltd and is effective as of September 2006.

Returns Policy
Our 7-day returns guarantee for consumers
Kestrel Books Ltd's 7-day returns guarantee means that if for any reason you are unhappy with a book purchased from Kestrel Books Ltd via www.kestrelbooks.co.uk, www.kestrel-books.co.uk or www.kestrelbooks.eu, you can return it to us within 7 days of the date you received the item.

Our 30-day returns guarantee for non-consumers
If you represent any educational or government institution or a company, and have purchased a book or an educational material from Kestrel Books Ltd, you may return it to us in its original condition within 30 days of the date you received the item, unopened (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact) and we will issue a full refund for the price you paid for the item.
We can only accept the return of opened items if they are damaged or faulty. We are unable to exchange items that are not damaged, defective or incorrect.

Please note that e-books and software are effectively unsealed on delivery to the customer's computer or downloading device and are therefore not subject to a right of cancellation. However, we will replace corrupted files at no further cost to you within the time limits of any licence period agreed at the time of purchase.

Note: Kestrel Books Ltd cannot accept returns of books purchased from third-party sellers. In this case contact your seller to let them know you would like to return the book to them.

If we sent you an incorrect item (an item you did not order)
As soon as you realise we have sent you an incorrect item, please email orders@kestrel-books.co.uk to inform us. We will then send the correct item as soon as we can. Send the incorrect item back to us and we'll make sure you are not charged for it.
We will notify you via e-mail when we have processed your return. This may take up to three weeks. For your protection we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service if the value of the return is more than £50.

Note: in the event of Kestrel Books Ltd sending you a replacement for a damaged, defective or incorrect item, you must return the original item to Kestrel Books Ltd within 30 days of our e-mail confirming the issue of the replacement item. Provided you return this item to us within 30 days, you will have nothing more to pay. If you do not return the original item to us by the end of the 30-day period, we reserve the right to charge an amount equal to the price of your original order to the payment card you used for the order.

Note: if you return an item to us and the reason for the return is not because of an error on our part and the item is not defective, we will deduct the cost of return postage from your refund.

Privacy
Kestrel Books Ltd is serious about protecting your privacy.
Customer information is collected through the ordering process, which tailors your requirements to the purchasing process.
We require personal information such as:
Your name and address so that we can send your order to you.
Your email address so that we can confirm your order and notify you of your order status.
Your telephone number in case we need to contact you urgently regarding your order or payment.
Personal information is not disclosed to a third party, nor is it ever sold, rented or traded to any other parties. We never disclose any bank or credit card details, not even in our email order confirmations to you or on any sales receipts accompanying the order.

Security Guarantee
You want to know that your name, address, bank account details and any other information you provide is kept safe and secure. Our data is held on a protected server, which is not accessible by the outside world.
We use passwords, IP restrictions and all information is stored behind a firewall.

Any sensitive hard copy records that Kestrel Books Ltd discards are destroyed using a cross cutting shredder.
