Kestrel - Maes Yr Haul Song Resource Project

Maes Yr Haul Primary School at Broadlands in the town of Bridgend, South Wales is taking part in the creation of an EFL / ESL song resource for younger learners.

The project is being led by Year 6 pupils under the direction of literacy co-ordinator Ian Davies, music co-ordinator Cath Jones and teacher Karen Williams. Guidance, encouragement and support is being supplied by Head Teacher
Pam Mahoney.

The project was officially launched on November 16 as the full team of pupils and teachers considered the range of activities involved. To begin with, the pupils have supplied a list of songs that they enjoy singing in school. These include songs sung right across the Primary School age groups 5-11. Many of these songs are commonly sung in schools in the UK.

The pupils of Maes Yr Haul would like to learn about the favourite songs of pupils in schools around the world. Of course they would like to know what songs you sing in English, but would like to learn about your favourite songs in your own language.
